Every city is written in lines.
A canal tracing its way through a winter evening. A staircase carved into old stone. Tram tracks disappearing beneath glass towers. Highways stretching toward distant horizons. These are more than elements of infrastructure; they are the quiet frameworks that shape how we move, connect, and experience place.
Lines of Passage is a photographic exploration of those in-between spaces where journeys unfold. From the historic streets of Strasbourg to contemporary urban districts in the Netherlands, from silent waterways to open roads, the images follow the paths that guide daily life yet often escape our attention.
Cities are not static collections of buildings; they are living systems of circulation, memory, and encounter. The lines captured in these photographs—roads, canals, facades, horizons, and pathways—tell stories of transition. They reveal how design shapes experience and how ordinary spaces become part of our personal narratives.
Rather than focusing on destinations, this series celebrates the moments between them. The pause before climbing a staircase. The reflection of city lights on frozen water. The rhythm of architecture framing an open sky. The quiet geometry of everyday movement.
Lines of Passage invites viewers to look beyond arrival and departure, and to discover the beauty, structure, and meaning hidden within the paths we travel every day. Inspired by themes of movement, infrastructure, and urban experience that also appear throughout my photographic work, this series continues an exploration of how places shape the stories we carry with us.
